What do these class names mean?

Basics classes teach the foundation and principles of a flow-style yoga class. You can expect there to be a combination of standing and seated poses, and as such, these classes are moderately vigorous. These classes will prepare you for the Solar (Vinyasa Flow) classes on our schedule.

Lunar Yoga classes offer a slow, deep stretch with an emphasis on deeply releasing the hips, legs, and lower back. These classes are an excellent starting point as well as a complement to other activities (golf, running, flow yoga, etc). Most poses are seated, this class is not vigorous but will go deep. Great for anyone who thinks they are "tight".

Restorative Yoga classes are all about recalibrating your nervous system and practicing stillness, meditation and deep relaxation. These poses are all floor-based and use a multitude of props to bring your body into optimal positioning for relaxing deeply. These classes are extremely gentle and appropriate for anybody that has ever felt stressed and wants to learn a way out.

ONE-DAY INTRO TO YOGA WORKSHOPS

Introduction To Yoga: An Overview For Beginners
is a great starting point for people of all ages, fitness levels and flexibilities. This 2-hour workshop will introduce you to the basic principles and postures of a yoga class in a safe and supportive environment. This monthly workshop is ideal for anyone who is reluctant to try yoga because you're concerned about jumping right into a public class. We'll break down the fundamentals of a basic flow yoga practice and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and explore yoga poses and conscious breathing without concern for "keeping up".

See the Workshops page for upcoming dates.
